Empty buildings over vacations, summers, and long weekends draw vandalism and break-ins. Verified patrol checks — exterior doors, grounds, and interior walk-throughs where wanted — keep an empty campus a visited one.

Contract security officers are not police, and the post orders say exactly what they do handle: screening visitors, watching doors, documenting concerns, and escalating to the administrators and emergency contacts your school designates. Nothing is left to an officer’s improvisation.
